Our Story
I am from the era of floral dresses, lace socks and pretty patent shoes; with mothers wearing two piece outfits, stockings and kitten heels. My father had a cream bell bottom pair of pants that he wore with an afro. My mother and her sisters always dressed well, and my grandmothers each had their individualistic way of dressing. All these people influence how I design, create and finish. Add to this the music they passed on to me, and the culture in South Africa at the time.
I love creating. I love making items from flat fabric. I am a dreamer, having my ideas become tangible items is a miracle with every item. Roka Roko allows me to do this. It is my pleasure to create clothes that give women freedom, confidence and allows them to feel pretty. With this site, I hope to reach more and give more.
Roka Roko is currently in Mphenyatsati, Bushbuckridge town in the Mpumalanga provice of South Africa. The company was started in February 2014, in Gauteng. Gauteng gave me a Marketing degree, fashion diploma, retail business experience, contacts, business experince and the drive to keep going. The move 'back home' is part of a bigger dream to create a fashion hub at home, to service the world.

Through the process
Diversity is at the heart of our product; we want to offer a product that appeals to many tastes. In a country like South Africa, to be able to create newness is a dream. On a continent such as Africa, the playfield is bigger. Our products are made with satins, ankara, seshweshwe, all native prints, mainstream prints and heavy fabrics; the dream is to offer creativity that lasts throughtout time.
We listen, read and research regularly. Prioritise fabric searches, dimensions and finishing. This all is to build a respectable brand.
